Durability

Wood is durable. There are log houses in the world that are over 800 years old.  Wood has a a very high strength to weight ratio, it will bear great amounts of weight dispite its light weight. Wood has natural seismic strengths.  After earthquakes most buildings made of logs, remain undamaged.
